Auriga Butterflyfish (Chaetodon auriga) is a generally peaceful fish, but may battle with its own kind over territories. Like all Butterflyfishes, they appreciate a place to retreat to at night. They are shy fish and may choose to go hungry rather than compete for food against more boisterous fishes in the tank. These fish have color markings that differ from their adult form. This species of Butterflyfish is territorial and may battle with its own kind. Soft Corals and most Invertebrates should do fine with the Butterflyfish, but it may likely decimate Stony Corals, as they are a part of its natural diet. In an aquarium, frozen and freeze-dried diets containing algae are good substitutes and can be supplemented with asparagus, broccoli, and some dried algae.Another useful method to encourage some Butterflyfish to eat is to place their food inside of a coral skeleton. Also known as Threadfin Butterfly
