Black Tang (Zebrasoma rostratum) has a velvet black, sleek look that makes it a unique aquarium addition. Typically a Hawaiian native, Black Longnose Tang (Zebrasoma rostratum) has the typical herbivorous diet and hardiness of other Zebrasoma members such as the Yellow and Sailfin Tangs. These fish are excellent algal cleaners, particularly of the nuisance green filamentous algae. Also known as the Longnose Sailfin Tang, this reef-safe beauty will not bother other fish, invertebrates, or corals. A prized fish in any home aquarium, Black Tang requires a vegetable-based diet that should include feedings multiple times daily of seaweed and spirulina. Introduction of the brown macro-algae Ogo may help the eating cycle to begin.
