product description

Dogface Puffer Dogface Puffer is a home aquarium addition that is sure to capture the attention of household visitors and sure to become the aquarist's favorite. Though this personable fish may be somewhat shy when initially introduced, it will likely become overtly bold in its patrolling of its home. It will typically greet any viewers in hopes of receiving another meal. Also known as the Black-Spotted Puffer, Arothron nigropunctatus will eat a tremendous amount of food if given to it, but will do fine with a couple of feedings a day. With the potential to grow to over a foot in length, the Dogface Puffer should be kept only in larger aquariums. Small specimens will grow quickly, and require meaty foods including krill, clam, and carnivore preparations. In the wild, the Dogface Puffer feeds on the flesh of corals, a variety of anemones, and most crustaceans, making it safe for fish-only aquariums. Its coloration tends to vary greatly from specimen to specimen in shades of browns, oranges, and yellows.
