Engineer Goby (Pholidichthys leucotaenia) is actually in a separate family from the gobies and blennies, it is the only member of the family Pholidichthyidae. The Engineer Goby is black with white horizontal stripe from eye to tail as a juvenile. With age The horizontal stripe will change to vertical bands as a adult. The Engineer Goby (Pholidichthys leucotaenia) will school so adding more then one in not a problem. They will benefit from a thick sand bed and plenty of live rock so they can burrow a home. Like other members of the Goby family, this fish is a leaper and requires a tightly covered aquarium. They are fairly disease resistant and may withstand sub-optimal water conditions. The Engineer Goby will accept frozen foods including copepods, brine shrimp, mysid shrimp, plankton, worms and other finely chopped meaty foods.
