Fungia, Fungia repanda, or Short Tentacle Plate Coral is seen in a variety of shades of green, pink, purple, and red. Most tend to be pink or green. This easy-care coral does best on a sandy substrate in a well-established aquarium. Though its shorter tentacles limit its reach, it may sting or injure other corals that it can reach. Tongue or Plate Coral may migrate to a place where it feels more comfortable. As with most other members of Large Polyp Stonys, maintaining a proper calcium level is an important key to successful development. It will definitely benefit from occasional target feedings of plankton or brine shrimp.
