Green Finger Leather (Sinularia sp.) comes various shades of Green with white or gold polyps. Green Finger Leather Corals are somewhat peaceful Coral, but it will still require space between itself and other Coral within your reef aquarium. The Sinnularis Finger Leather can produce toxins which are harmful to other reef inhabitants. These Corals are easy to maintain in the reef aquarium and make an excellent coral for the beginning reef aquarist. Finger Leather Corals require medium to high lighting along with medium to strong water movement. For continued good health, it will also require the addition of iodine, strontium, and other trace elements to the water. The symbiotic algae zooxanthellae hosted within its body provides the majority of its nutritional needs from the light process of photosynthesis. You should feed your Green Finger Leather micro-plankton, Cyclop-eeze, baby brine shrimp, Mysis Shrimp or foods designed for filter feeding invertebrates. Also known as: Fiji Green Finger Leather, Sinnularis Finger Leather, Spaghetti Leather, Rasta Leather. NOTE that the Green Finger Leather (Sinularia spp.) will often secrete a mucous coating during shipping to protect itself. To remove this slimy coating, just rinse it vigorously in seawater before placing in the aquarium.
