Angel fish here at Anything
salt water. Marine Angel fish
comes in primarily three sizes,
first the Dwarf/ Pygmy
Angelfish, (Centropyge,
Genus.) These fish grow from
1" and up to 3
inches. Medium
Angelfish, (Apolemichthys,
Chaetodontoplus,
Genicanthus, Pygoplites,
Genus.) Adults can grow to 10
inches. And the large
Angelfish, (Holacanthus,
Pomacanthus, Genus.) Adults
can grow to 18
inches.Saltwater Angelfish are
A fairly hardy fish, And can
live for a very long time if
given proper care. They will
eat most aquarium food and
Some Species will eat smaller
fish and invertebrates. It is
important to provide them
primarily with marine algae. A
large tank with some Species
and lots of live rock, algae
and sponges makes it easier
to care for this species.
Temperament can be an issue
with some Angelfish. They are
considered semi-aggressive
and may quickly become the
dominant fish in your tank.
Given their potential adult size
of 18 inches and their
intolerance of their own kind,
you should plan on keeping
only one of them in your
aquarium. Angelfish have
been noted to be fairly
disease resistent but you still
need to take proper pre-
cautions and use a quarantine
tank before introducing them
into your main tank. Here in
these categories, you will find
