categories (Marine Fish » Goby)

The Goby is an interesting Fish as in the Yellow Watchman Goby that forms a very cool symbiotic relationship with the pistol shrimp. The Goby should do fine in most setups but may be picked on by larger, more aggressive tank mates. They like to hide allot and live rock should help to make them feel more secure. The Goby fish has been known to jump from the tank so a good tight fitting aquarium hood is recommended. You may be able to keep mated pairs but it is not recommended to keep more than one mated pair of Gobies in smaller tanks. They may fight over territory with other goby species, but you may have more then one mated pairs if kept in a tank of 80 gallons and up. They are not very picky when it comes to fish food they are Omnivorous and should accept most foods that you give them. Try to give them a varied of marine foods the Goby should accept live, frozen, freeze-dried and vitamin-enriched flake foods. Most seem to be very resistant to most saltwater fish disease but you still need to take the proper pre-cautions and use a quarantine tank before introducing them into your main tank. After they've been in quarantine for two weeks or so and you notice no signs of illness, slowly acclimate them into your display tank.
