Ricordea Mushroom Mix Variety Polyps (Ricordea florida) is round with a oral disc like shape. This variety is mostly Blue, Gold, Orange, Green, and Red in color. The colors of these corals will intensified under fluorescent actinic lighting. The Ricordia Mushroom will adapt to a wide variety of lighting conditions, care should be taken to acclimate this coral to fluorescent and Addition care should be taken to the acclimatshon of metal halide lighting. Place the coral low in your aquarium until it opens fully, and then gradually over a few weeks, move the coral to your desired location. The florida Ricordea prefers low water movement. It is considered semi-aggressive and requires adequate space between itself and other corals. For continued good health, it will also require the addition of iodine, strontium, and other trace elements to the water. The symbiotic algae zooxanthellae hosted within it provide the majority of its nutritional requirements from the light process of photosynthesis. You should feed your Ricordia Mushroom micro-plankton, Cyclop-eeze, baby brine shrimp, Mysis Shrimp or foods designed for filter feeding invertebrates.
