Red Scooter Blenny (Synchiropus stellatus) coloration is a mottled red, brown, and white coloration. The Red Scooter Blenny as with most all Blennies exhibit great personality in the aquarium. They are a peaceful, community fish who are very compatible for the reef aquarium. They are very active fish who tend to stay in view. The first dorsal fin of males is much taller than the second fin. The females first dorsal fin is shorter than the second and she usually has larger white area between the red blotches. They spend most of their time skipping and hopping from place to place.
The Scooter Blenny will sift through the sand for food. Finely cut meaty foods and vitamin-enriched brine shrimp may be acceptable substitutes.
Scooter Blenny may be a difficult fish to keep due to its feeding habits. Also known as: Stellate Dragonet, Starry Dragonet, Red Scooter Dragonet, Red Ocellated Dragonet.
